Cooleh

I was just informed about a nice little feature on Cooleh online Magazine. It's a really cool site. Check it out here.

endless reflections

I've been a fan of comics since I was a kid. I think I've only actually read maybe 3 series. One of those was The Sandman by Neil Gaiman. So when I was invited to be in this upcoming show, focusing on that particular comic, I was pretty excited. It opens next Saturday with a ton of ridiculously great artists, including Ashley Wood, Dave Mckean, and Tessar Lo.

In the book the character, Abel, tells a story about a parliament of rooks. Abel reveals that the parliament would surround a single rook, with that one telling a story. If the story was not liked, the parliament would attack and kill the speaker. I always thought that story was so interesting and it stuck with me. I even did a painting of it last year, that you can see on my website. In the painting, all the rooks were surrounding the one, listening to what he had to say. This painting is the result of a bad story.

Campus Circle

The lovely people of Camus Circle Magazine have decided to throw my little painting on the cover of this months issue. Theres also a nice little article in there on page 12. It just hit news stands today so go check it out. I know they have them at Amoeba here in LA. But if you don't get the chance to grab one, you can see it online here.

Thanks Yuri!

sorry

Sorry for being so neglectful of my little blog here. I'm slaving away on a new set of paintings for my upcoming solo show at Cerasoli : LeBasse on Nov. 8th. I'll post a little taste soon. In the meantime, if you want to come up on a really cheap painting, head over to the ISM skate deck auction. Last time I checked, mine was only at $100 which is a ridiculous price for a good sized original painting. Look for Tessar Lo's, Scott Belcastro's, Nimit Malavia's, and Yuta Onada's, and Ken Garduno's. All great paintings for insanely low prices. Plus all the money goes to charity, so you get to feel good about yourself. Win/win.
